Pearl groats are barley grains peeled from the outer shell and polished. Unlike traditional barley groats, they are much smaller, lighter and quicker to prepare. Barley is one of the oldest grains grown in the region of Latvia and has traditionally been the main source of carbohydrates in our diet.

Pearl groats are rich in fiber, carbohydrates and minerals and contain almost all biologically active nutrients required by the human body. They are an excellent source of fiber and contain about ten times more fiber per serving than rice.
