Mammut Smarter Belay Package
Belay device with assisted braking
An essential set for both beginners and experienced climbers who want to improve their safety. The Smarter provides additional safety for the Smart 2.0 belay device and locks to prevent falls even in case of improper use (for example, if the braking hand is held in the wrong position above the belay device). The safety gate prevents the Smart HMS carabiner from twisting in the belay loop of the climbing harness.
The set includes an HMS carabiner designed specifically for the Smart 2.0 belay device, ensuring optimal performance.
Recommended rope diameter:
- 9.2–10.0 mm: Optimal performance guaranteed
- 8.7–9.1 mm: Using thin ropes with the Smart 2.0 requires increased vigilance and extensive practical experience in belaying technique.
- 10.1–10.5 mm: In the case of older ropes and ropes with a larger diameter, more physical effort is required when taking in the rope
