Belay device with assisted braking
What sets the award-winning Mammut Smart belay device apart from conventional basket-type belay devices is that it makes belaying much safer by blocking the rope in the event of a sudden jerk (climber fall).
Includes HMS carabiner, designed specifically for the Smart 2.0 belay device and ensures optimal performance.
Recommended rope diameter:
- 9.2–10.0 mm: Optimal performance guaranteed
- 8.7–9.1 mm: Using thin ropes with the Smart 2.0 requires greater vigilance and extensive practical experience in belaying techniques.
- 10.1–10.5 mm: Older ropes and ropes with larger diameters require more physical effort to take/give slack.
