• Never pack or store your tent if it is damp, wet, or dirty. Storing a damp tent in warm weather for even just 24 hours can lead to mold growth. Prolonged exposure to moisture causes hydrolysis, which leads to the breakdown of the waterproof layer, making it soft, sticky, and permeable. Mold damages the tent, creates odor, and leads to the degradation of the waterproof coating.
• Store your tent unpacked, in a breathable cotton or mesh bag. Do not store it in the original packaging, as these are usually moisture-proof and do not breathe.
• Due to their lightweight materials, these tents are not designed for long-term pitching in the yard or garden. Prolonged exposure to UV radiation will prematurely degrade their materials.
• Cleaning the tent is not necessary unless it smells or is very muddy. If the tent is very muddy, use a garden hose or shower pressure to remove the mud. For spot cleaning, pitch the tent and wash it with warm water, a sponge, and mild soap. Do not use stain removers, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, bleach, or soaking agents. Rinse well. Dry the tent pitched or freely hung. Never dry clean, machine wash, or machine dry the tent. Any of these methods can remove all waterproof coatings from the tent.
• After washing, restore the water-repellent coating with Toko Textile Proof.
